We are looking for a versatile developer whose main focus is on the back-end while having advanced javascript skills and working knowledge of markup. While our primary back-end languages are Python and some Ruby, the ideal candidate will be somewhat language agnostic and be excellent at picking up new languages and technologies. In addition to overseeing architecture of projects you will be tasked with creating deployment systems for ongoing updates to projects. This is a full-time position to be performed onsite at our offices in San Francisco.

Skills & Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Estimating projects based on initial scope
• Define project technical requirements
• Architect and implement website and CMS projects using technologies such as Django and DjangoCMS
• Assist front-end developers with template integration
• Integrate content and services from 3rd parties using APIs
• Play nicely with developers, designers, and project leaders to ensure code quality and design fidelity

Qualifications and Skills:

• Solid knowledge of Python and Django
• Experience with JavaScript, jQuery and Backbone.js
• Proficiency with databases such as MySQL & PostgreSQL
• High attention to detail to maintain design integrity throughout the build process
• Proficiency in version control systems such as Git and Subversion
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to clearly and professionally interact with clients

Extra Credit:

• Skills in Ruby, PHP, Perl, and IT
• Experience with DjangoCMS or Ruby on Rails
• Knowledge of deployment frameworks, Fabric or Capistrano
• Experience with responsive design
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks, Angular.js or Ember.js
• Unix/Linux administration experience
