Basic Prerequisites - Loves to be challenged and learn new things - Examples of launched projects - Familiar with QA and deployment processes - Comfortable working in a fast paced environment - Experience with cloud infrastructures (Heroku, AWS) - Versatility regarding working environment (leading a team vs. working alone)
Responsibilities - Maintain the current website and ecommerce store - Architect and build the frontend/backend of future features and projects - Unit testing and QA testing all releases - Responsible for the over-all systems architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance. - Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology. - Work with a minimum of technical supervision and supplemental engineering support. - Work closely with founders to plan releases. - Work directly with operations staff to debug production issues.
Requirements - Proficient in at least 1 server-side scripting language, preferably Python. - Strong understanding of Javascript and 3rd party JS libraries. - Comfortable with PostgreSQL with an eye towards performance. - Experience developing with the Django framework. - Experience in eCommerce, Payment Gateways & Merchant Accounts, I.E. PayPal, Braintree. - Knowledge of common third-party APIs like Facebook, Twitter. - Knowledge of security risks and solutions in web application development. - Experience with caching, redis, Amazon EC2, memcached. - Experience unit testing, QA testing, and debugging. - Experience using GIT or other version control system. - Strong understanding and development of HTML5/CSS3 and other web technologies - Results oriented with strong customer focus and good communication skills - Open, collaborative communication style - Ability to learn quickly and adapt as technology changes - Experience working with and designing RESTful API's
