Are you a Pythonista with an insatiable curiosity to discover how technologies work and how to build off of those technologies? Does the idea of writing Python to monitor Python software make you take notice? Are you passionate about testing and releasing software that works the first time, every time? Can you advocate for the user and accept no less than the highest quality release candidates? Then you are probably the person we’re looking to speak with!

New Relic is a software monitoring and analytics company. We use big data to monitor software and report back on performance. We’re currently looking for our next Python developer. If you believe you’re that person, you’ll have a good dose of the following:

• 2+ years Python development experience
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical forethought and insight to help the team plan features and release good code
• A strong passion for the users and for releasing code that works well and is beneficial to the users
• Testing, testing, testing. You just love tests and testing, and unit tests are your best friends
• Insatiable curiosity and capacity to learn new technologies and dive into hard problems
• Excellence at estimating time for projects

To fast track your resume, summarize in your cover letter what you have done with any or all of the following:

• Previous Rails experience
• Previous QA experience
• TDD
• WSGI programming and application deployment
• Asynchronous web programming (Twisted.Web, Tornado)
• Porting code to Python 3.X and PyPy
• Python C extension modules
• Python packaging systems Python decorators and monkey patching Python profilers and debuggers
