Imaginary Landscape is an established open source Web development firm located in the Andersonville neighborhood on Chicago’s north side. We have deep roots within the Python and Django sommWe are looking for an up-and-coming programmer who will work on a technical team that specializes in building, deploying, and maintaining Django web applications.

A good candidate will have:

• Experience programming with Python and using Python modules
• Familiarity with one or more web frameworks: Django, Rails, Node.js, etc.
• Experience with SQL Databases
• Experience on the command line in a Linux (or other Unix-like) OS
• Familiarity with Web technologies (Nginx, Apache, DNS, etc.)

An ideal candidate will have:

• Experience with Django
• Experience with System Administration (your home machine counts!)
• Experience using PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience with HTML, CSS and JS
• Experience using version control systems, such as Git
• Familiarity with AWS and Rackspace Cloud tools

We are seeking an individual with strong communication skills, who understands the importance of being punctual and dependable, and is comfortable working as a member of a team. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who loves Web technology and is comfortable learning new skills.
