Full Stack Developer at PrecisionHawk

Are you a Full Stack Software Developer who has prior experience working on a scalable, high-volume, web-based application? Do you have experience writing and shipping quality code with a modern web application framework (Django, Rails, etc.)? Do you have a clear understanding of HTTP and RESTful APIs? If you are looking for a place where your contributions will have a significant impact on the product this is an exciting opportunity to join the drone pilot network team supporting the droners.io platform!

We’re still a small, scrappy team that has joined forces with one of the largest drone companies in the world. Backed by some of the most respected investors in the space, you’ll be working right along the founding team to scale literally 1000x in the next year. We first went to market with a small-business/consumer product. We’ve dominated that space and are now building out our enterprise product to better serve insurance, utility, energy and construction and other enterprise verticals at massive scale. This role includes all the best things about joining an early stage startup and leaves out the worst – ramen noodles for lunch and no users to sell a product to.

How would you utilize your experience designing and developing web-based applications at PrecisionHawk? Here are a few examples of what you can expect to do and learn:

• You will be a key member of the engineering team who will enable the continuous delivery of quality software
• You will handle server-side and client-side code for a production platform
• Solve problems as they arise as we scale up and grow our customer base

Our stack is Python, Django, Django Rest Framework, Celery, Elasticsearch and Memcached. We are deployed on AWS, and we use Git (Github Flow) to manage code and JIRA for project management. We care less that you perfectly fit our technical requirements/stack, and more so that you are a passionate developer eager to learn as well as bring your experience building web applications to the team! We are a close-knit team who truly enjoys working with each other and are very passionate about the success of the product. As much as we care about the product – we equally care about our team members and support each other in any way we can. The team is lead by the original founder and creator of the company, who is also a software engineer.
